"Every ticket is a two-day wristband at one price, whether you come one day or both." That line comes from the Rancho Family Fest FAQ. It matters more than anything else on the 2026 festival site. The wristband is $25 online or at the gate, there is no one-day option, and it lets you leave and come back during the day. The festival runs Saturday, October 10, from 1 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, October 11, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Central Park, 30842 La Miranda.
With one price for both days and different music each day, the weekend works best as several short visits. The RSM Chamber of Commerce presents the festival with the City of Rancho Santa Margarita, SAMLARC and CrossGen AI. The schedule, the ticket rules and the event's history all point the same way.
The format grew out of a two-hour mixer
Patch's September 16 preview says the event "originally started as a small annual commerce event known as the 'Taste of Rancho,'" a two-hour mixer with a handful of food vendors and local musicians. Today it runs two days. A 2012 Patch community post advertised "RanchoFest" at Central Park for May 25 and 26 that year and called it bigger than the 2010 Taste of Rancho. After a virtual Rancho Family Fest in June 2020, the event returned to Central Park in October 2021, when the Orange County Register photographed The Reflexx on stage.
Some of the same bands come back year after year. The Reflexx closes Saturday night this year. Tijuana Dogs, who were on the bill when Patch announced the October 2024 edition, close Sunday. Organizers told Patch that entry, beer garden and food prices this year are the same as last year or lower.
The two days have different lineups
On the official lineup page, each day opens with a School of Rock set before the headliners.
| Main Stage | Saturday, Oct. 10 | Sunday, Oct. 11 |
|---|---|---|
| Opening set | School of Rock, 1:15–2:00 p.m. | School of Rock, 1:00–1:45 p.m. |
| Early afternoon | Marie Kelly, the Champagne Cowgirl, line dancing, 2:30–3:30 p.m. | Rock Garden, 2:00 p.m. |
| Late afternoon | Vintage Vinyl, 4:00 p.m. | Yachty By Nature, 4:00 p.m. |
| Early evening | Blonde Ambition, 6:00 p.m. | Tijuana Dogs, 6:00 p.m. |
| Night | The Reflexx, 8:00 p.m. | Gates close at 8:00 p.m. |
The lineup page lists only start times for the evening acts. Saturday's festival hours end at 10 p.m., so The Reflexx has the latest slot of the weekend. Sunday's hours end at 8 p.m., so the Tijuana Dogs set is the last chance for live music on day two.
Families with young children can come Saturday afternoon for School of Rock and the line dancing, then come back Sunday afternoon for Rock Garden. Evening concertgoers can come for Blonde Ambition and The Reflexx on Saturday, then Tijuana Dogs on Sunday. In both cases the second visit costs nothing extra.
Wearing the wristband home
You get the most out of the ticket by coming back, so the wristband rules are worth knowing before you arrive. Under the FAQ, the wristband lets you re-enter during the day. You should not take it off, because "it cannot be reattached." If you want to come back Sunday, keep it on overnight.
These rules from the FAQ cover what most people ask at the gate:
- Gate tickets are $25 on both days and the gate takes cards only.
- Children 12 and under get in free, and so does active-duty military with a valid ID.
- Gates open at 1 p.m. You can set out chairs only after you are inside.
- Low-back chairs are allowed. Umbrellas are not.
- Outside food, drinks and coolers are not allowed. Water bottles are.
- Pets are not allowed. Service animals are welcome.
- Food is cashless and runs about $5 to $15 per item.
- Alcohol is sold only in the Beer & Wine Garden, for guests 21 and over, and has to stay inside the garden.
- Lost and found is at the Chamber of Commerce booth.
Parking is free in designated lots near Central Park. The FAQ says to follow the signs from Santa Margarita Parkway and arrive early for the closest spots. As of October 3, the festival map page says the map is not yet available, and neither it nor the FAQ mentions shuttle service.
Volunteers get a different deal. One volunteer shift gets you into the whole festival. Once your shift is confirmed, the Chamber emails a free admission pass. Roles include set-up, the beer garden, the business vendor area, the Kids Zone, registration, restaurant cashiering and clean-up. Set-up shifts on Friday start at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. If you work Friday set-up, you are covered for both festival days.
The food comes from local businesses
The Business Vendor Marketplace keeps the event tied to its Chamber roots. Organizers told Patch it was "one of the most important additions," because it lets businesses "showcase their products and services directly to thousands of local residents."
The food vendor list shows the same local focus. La Tia Tacos & More RSM, Hanna's Restaurant & Bar, Rudioso Red Chili, Fat Daddy's Bakery, Mountain Mike's, BallPark Pizza Team and an Auntie Anne's & Cinnabon booth are all on the directory. The directory has names but no menus, so the FAQ's $5 to $15 range is the only price guide. With a two-day wristband, you can eat at different booths on Saturday and Sunday.
For children, the About page describes a free Kids' Fun Zone and Tot Lot with games, rides and hands-on activities, plus an artisan and business marketplace. Since the play areas are free and children 12 and under get in free, a family's cost mostly comes down to the adult wristbands and food.
Saturday starts at the lake
October 10 is also a farmers market day. The RSM Certified Farmer's Market runs from 8 to 11 a.m. in the north-side parking lot at Rancho Santa Margarita Lake, near the amphitheater. It closes two hours before the festival gates open at 1 p.m., which leaves time for a morning at the lake, lunch at home and an afternoon at Central Park. The city lists the next market dates as October 24, November 14 and November 28, with the same hours.
Central Park's next big date
Twenty days later, Central Park hosts SAMLARC's Halloween Family Festival on Friday, October 30, from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Activities run from 3:30 to 6 p.m., and an outdoor screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas starts at 6:30. The listing includes games, inflatables, a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating and a costume contest. One local roundup listed it as a Saturday, but SAMLARC's own page says Friday.
Before that, the Rancho Santa Margarita Branch of OC Public Libraries holds Dance Party Presents: Monster Bash on Thursday, October 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. It includes a costume parade and treats, with support from the Friends of the Rancho Santa Margarita Library.
For Rancho Family Fest, tickets, the volunteer sign-up and the lineup are all on the Rancho Family Fest site, and the RSM Chamber of Commerce lists the event on its calendar.
